The Chilton County School Board has decided to make up an inclement weather day on Oct 14.

Schools were closed for one day in August due to severe weather brought by Tropical Storm Fay. The school calendar had built in a make-up day on Nov. 26, the day before Thanksgiving.

Superintendent Keith Moore, however, suggested that they use the second day of the system’s fall break in October .

“I think it would be better to make it up then instead of interfering with the Thanksgiving holiday,” he said, “and with as crazy as the weather has been, we might need the other day.”
