Hicks elected director for CLAS board

Maggie Hicks, Principal at Maplesville High School in Maplesville, has been elected AASSP Director of the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) Board of Directors. CLAS is the statewide professional organization for school and school system administrators consisting of over 3,000 members. The Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP) is the professional association for Alabama’s high school principals and an affiliate of CLAS.

“Maggie Hicks will be an excellent leader for CLAS,” praised Executive Director L. Earl Franks. “She will continue the CLAS standard of putting children first.”

The Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools coordinates and facilitates the resources of all members for the advancement of public education. CLAS members support child advocacy and quality professional development as the two most important functions of this umbrella organization. CLAS is headquartered in downtown Montgomery.
