MONTGOMERY – People without proof of U.S. citizenship or a legal right to be in the country would no longer be admitted to Alabama’s community colleges under a policy change being considered by the state board of education.
Under the proposed changes, applicants to the community college system would be required to show an Alabama driver’s license, state ID card, an unexpired U.S. passport, or an unexpired U.S. permanent resident card.
