Thorsby’s Brittany Maddox aced Sylacauga nine times to lead the Rebels (3-11) to a 14-25, 25-12, 15-9 win over Sylacauga in a tri-match on Monday. The Rebels fell to Chelsea by a 25-2, 25-5 score.

Maddox also had five kills and three digs in the Sylacauga match. Michelle Hendrix contributed four assists and two aces. Stephanie Moore had two kills, two blocks and two aces. Holly Smith was good for two kills, four assists, three aces and five digs. Kendra Dawson recorded three kills and two aces.

The Thorsby junior varsity team lost against both teams – 25-22, 23-25, 6-15 to Sylacauga and 9-25, 20-25 to Chelsea. Brittney Lewis had four aces in the Sylacauga match, and Kayla Smith had three aces.

The middle school Rebels fell to Sylacauga 13-25, 15-25, 10-25 despite Martha Gutierrez’s seven aces, three assists and two kills.
