Dress code is a good thing

Montgomery public schools have been in the news lately because of an extension of the dress code that forbids people from wearing just whatever they want to athletic events on school campuses.
The rule applies to both students and spectators as well as the home school and visiting school alike.
Forbidden items include oversized clothing, flip flops, short skirts, low-cut blouses, and that which promotes illegal activities and violence.
We think dress codes should be enforced at any school function held on campus. If we do not want our students to dress inappropriately, then we should at least set a good example for them.
There is just no reason for wearing revealing clothing at a public school event. It is distracting and, more often than not, disgusting.
Nobody wants to see someone’s undergarments while at a game. And if they do, you probably wouldn’t want to make it easy for them.
