Outreach can be simple

Deep down, everybody wants to do something to make the world a better place. Most of us, however, are bound by the illusion that in order for something to be significant, it has to be difficult.

A member of a local church has started an outreach that is unique yet simple. Heritage Church of the Nazarene in Clanton has placed a prayer request box in front of the church into which people can leave prayer requests. The requests are handled discreetly and are read only by the church’s pastor.

Two local business have agreed to let the church place additional boxes on their property, and Heritage is welcoming any businesses that wish to participate.

One intention of the ministry is to provide a way for people who do not attend church to submit prayer requests, and so far people are participating.

Perhaps this is something that will work for other churches as well.
