MONTGOMERY – A jury in Montgomery County has recommended life in prison without parole for a man convicted of killing a Montgomery police officer.

Jurors, on an 8-4 vote, deliberated for about 4 hours Wednesday in the case against 34-year-old Mario Woodward. He was convicted Tuesday in the shooting death of Officer Keith Houts. Prosecutors said Houts was slain during a traffic stop in September 2006.
