Loretta Tiffin “Mamma T” Hayes, 86, died Sunday, Aug. 24.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at The First United Methodist Church with the burial following at Clanton City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on today, Wednesday, Aug. 27, at Martin Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by husbands James (Gabby) Tiffin and Alex Hayes. Loretta was a native of Clanton.
She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church for many years. She had a passion for the elderly and often visited area nursing homes with her beloved poodle, Sassy-girl, bringing much joy to everyone she saw. Loretta never met a stranger and her family was the light of her life. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Jim (wife, Joyce) Tiffin of Dothan and Tom (wife, B.J.) Tiffin, of St. George Island, Fla. She had four stepchildren, Alex, Jr., Judy, Al and Bobbie Hayes. She had six grandchildren, Tom, Brian and Eric Tiffin and Paige Tiffin (Flynn,) Lacye Tiffin (Davis,) and Tiffany Tiffin (Monod.) She also had nine great grandchildren.
