ELMORE COUNTY- The Alabama Emergency Management Agency and Elmore County Emergency Management Agency are confirming one fatality related to what was Tropical Storm Fay. A 33-year old male drowned Saturday on Lake Martin, near Dopson’s Point.

According to family members the victim was in the water when rough wind and water took him under and he did not re-surface. Elmore County officials received the initial call regarding the accident about 4:42 p.m.. The victim’s body was recovered Sunday just before 10 a.m.

First responders from both Elmore County and Tallapoosa County assisted the Alabama Marine Police in the recovery of the 33-year old victim’s body. Family on the scene says he is a resident of Mobile County, and he was in Elmore County visiting family.
