Two crashes involving 18-wheelers occurred on I-65 this afternoon.

There appeared to be no life-threatening injuries from the crashes, which occurred around 4 p.m. Tuesday near the 216-mile marker.

Union Grove Fire Department, Chilton County deputy sheriffs and state troopers responded to the wrecks.

In one wreck, an 18-wheeler collided with a pick-up truck.

This wreck resulted in another wreck behind it on I-65 southbound. Another crash occurred in Thorsby around the same time.

Traffic from the crashes made traffic back for at least a mile on I-65 southbound.

Steady rainfall brought much needed relief from the drought, but it caused several crashes on the roadways yesterday.
