Kurt Wallace has announced his candidacy for Mayor of Maplesville.

He is a 1975 graduate of Maplesville High School. He is married to Connie Walls and together they have raised three children, Jennifer Turner, Terri Williams and Jeremy Wallace.

He now has four grandchildren who all live within the community of Maplesville.

“I love the small town atmosphere in Maplesville, but if our children and grandchildren are going to remain in this community, we need to find a way to entice businesses to locate in our area. To entice business, you must have a strong infrastructure in the community (sewer systems, good roads, etc),” Wallace said.

Wallace has been employed with Bush Hog in Selma for 24 years. Out of those 24 years, he has spent eight working on the town council. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in management.

“I believe my education along with having served on the town council for the last eight years, qualifies me for the Mayor’s office. Eight years on the town council has given me a great understanding of how our local city government operates,” he said. “My desire is to be a catalyst for change in our community. As everyone knows, nothing grows without changing.”

“If elected, I will lead Maplesville with honesty, integrity and a strong moral conviction to do the right thing at the right time,” he said.
