If you haven’t visited our “Spotted” web site on www.clantonadvertiser.com, you are missing seeing the hundreds of photographs uploaded to the site by site visitors as well as members of The Clanton Advertiser’s staff.

In fact, more than 1,200 photographs of people and events in Chilton County have been posted to the site since it opened two weeks ago.

The site provides the opportunity for you to share with others the photographs you take under the “You Spotted” section. Registering on the www.clantonadvertiser.com site automatically registers you on the http://spotted.clantonadvertiser.com site as well.

Once you are registered and want to have your photographs published on the site you simply have to access the site and follow the uploading directions. The pictures you upload cannot be downloaded or purchased by others.

It is fun to look through the submitted pictures and see how many people I know have been “spotted” by photographers in the area.

Another value of the “spotted” site is the opportunity visitors have to see photographs taken by our staff that do not appear in The Clanton Advertiser. Space limitations reduce the number of pictures about an event we can run in our printed edition daily.

Our http://spotted.clantonadvertiser.com sits allows us to publish all the pictures we take at events. Our reporters will take scores of pictures at major events that are seen only by staff members. The http://spotted.clantonadvertiser.com site allows you to see every picture taken by our reporters daily. And, in the near future, you will have the opportunity to purchase any of the photographs we have in our “we spotted” portion of the site.

Other staff members here and I appreciate the comments about our two new sites and hope you will visit them often to keep abreast of what is going on in Chilton County. In the past week our reporters posted several breaking news stories on the www.clantonadvertiser.com site quickly after the events occurred. I believe the site is the fastest way to read breaking news that occurs in our coverage area.

www.clantonadvertiser.com and http://spotted.clantonadvertiser.com are two important editions that allow us to bring you the most current news report available. Both are interactive sites that allow you to share your views about the news events reported in The Clanton Advertiser/www.clantonadvertiser.com and in the case of http://spotted.clantonadvertiser.com/, share those great vacation pictures you take with all of us.

Note: Mike Kelley is the publisher of The Clanton Advertiser. His column appears on Sundays.
