Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Blanton of Adamsville are pleased to announce the engagement and upcoming marriage of their daughter Kristi Lynn Blanton to Monte George McAndrew III, son of Mr. and Mrs. Monte G. McAndrew Jr. of Athens.

The bride elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Meank of Clanton and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Blanton of Jemison. She is a graduate of Minor High School and the University of Alabama where she received a bachelor of science in finance.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Hervy Blackmon of Slidell, La., and Mr. and Mrs. Monte G. McAndrew Sr. of Picayune, Miss. He is a graduate of Athens High School and the Universal Technical Institute in Orlando, Fla.

Both are locally employed.

The wedding is planned for Aug. 30 at the historic Donnelly House in Birmingham.
