Auburn Orange used a home run from Tyus Flakes, who finished second in the home run derby that kicked off the Dixie Youth Baseball AAA state tournament, and two shutout innings from Bradley Northcutt to take a 3-2 win Wednesday night over previously undefeated Taylorville.

The result meant a three way tie in the double-elimination tournament. Auburn drew the bye into the championship round, and will await the winner of the Taylorville-Dothan National Blue game at 1 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Dothan was the night’s other winner, building a 6-0 lead through three innings over Underwood then holding on for a 7-4 win.
