Election should be about economy

There’s already been plenty of discussion – and there’s sure to be much more – about foreign affairs and Barack Obama’s religious beliefs, but our presidential race should be about the economy.
Numbers released by the State Department of Industrial Relations revealed Chilton County’s unemployment was up to 4.3 percent in June, compared to 3.3 percent one year ago.
Talk about mortgage rates and inflation might fly over the head of an ordinary Joe, but he’s likely to see the writing on the wall with talk about the more than 100 people in the county who have become jobless in the past year.
The livelihoods of Americans somehow seems more important than any other issue.
