Jerrell Edwin Hewett, 47, of Jemison died Tuesday, July 1, 2008 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster.
He was born on Thursday, Jan. 19, 1961, in Chilton County, son of Kenneth Wayne Hewett and the late Eva Eloyce Morris.
He was a carpenter.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy Hewett of Jemison; son, Ken Hewett of Jemison; daughter, Magan Hewett of Jemison; stepsons, Daron Brantley of Montevallo, Brandon Thrash of Calera; six grandchildren, a host of uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews; father, Kenneth Hewett of Mobile; three sisters, Janice Harris of Jemison, Eva Wallace of Clanton, Lorie Hewett of Mobile; two brothers, Paul Hewett of Mobile and John Hewett of Ohio.
He was preceded in death by Eva Oaks, mother; John Oaks, brother; Russell Oaks, stepfather; and Judy Minor, sister.
Friends were received from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, July 2, at Martin Funeral Home.
Services were held Thursday, July 3, at 2 p.m. at graveside with the Rev. Richard Parker officiating.
Interment followed in Mars Hill Baptist Cemetery, Jemison.
