MONTGOMERY (AP) – Vice President Dick Cheney will speak at a fundraiser for the Alabama Republican Party next month in suburban Birmingham.

Party Chairman Mike Hubbard said Cheney will speak Aug. 1 at a luncheon at Shoal Creek County Club to raise money for the party’s federal campaign fund. Hubbard said the money will be used primarily to help Republican candidates for Congress.

Invitations to the event say the tickets are $500 and $2,000. The higher priced ticket includes a photo with the vice president.
