Sammy Wilson of Clanton found this young buzzard on 8th Street. “I saw him walking across the bridge, and I stopped and picked him up.” The bird visited The Clanton Advertiser and the Clanton Police Department before being picked up by the Wildlife Federation. The group took the the buzzard to the Oak Mountain State Park Rehabilitation Center. The reason why the bird was walking on the bridge is because it is still too young to fly, according to wildlife officials.
