Bussey annouces bid for mayor of Thorsby

Tracia Bussey has qualified for the Thorsby mayoral election.

Bussey has lived in Thorsby for over 12 years. She is a graduate of Jemison High School, and has two years of training in business and accounting. She also holds a two year certification in Bible School.

She has been an administrator and bookkeeper for 18 years.

She and her husband, Travis, have been married for 34 years, and she is the mother of three daughters and grandmother of six grandchildren.

She and her husband pioneered The Lighthouse Church of Thorsby where he has been the pastor for more than 25 years and she serves on the Board of Trustees.

Bussey is also a 2006 Chilton Leadership graduate, the chairman of the Thorsby Swedish Fest Committee since 2001 and a chairman of the Thorsby Historical Preservation Committee.

“If elected, I plan to raise the standard of excellence in everything the town does, give every resident a voice, prepare the town for future growth, preserve the town’s historical heritage, attract new businesses as well as support current ones and pursue all available resources that will benefit the town and its people,” Bussey said.
