Marie Holt Sammons

Marie Holt Sammons, 91, of Jemison died Monday, July 7, at Hatley Health Care, Clanton.

She was born on Thursday, Nov. 16, 1916, in Franklin County, daughter of the late Joe E. Holt and the late Elizabeth Bendall.

She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her daughter, Bette Cofer of Jemison; three granddaughters, DeAnna (Neal) Clements of Jemison, Doreen (Chase) Fell of Mountain Brook, Darlene (Norm) Tums of Destin, Fla.; great granddaughter, Allison (Mark) Tums Zingaretti, Holley Clements; five great grandsons, Jon Clements, Van Clements, Scott Clements, Blake Tums, Charlie Fell; great great grandson, Garrett Zingaretti.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Claude Glass; her second husband, L.W. Sammons; son-in-Law L.J. Cofer.

Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 9, at Martin Funeral Home.

Services will be held Thursday, July 10, at 11 a.m. at Jemison First Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Hill and the Rev. John Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens, Jemison.
