Qualifying candidates for mayoral and council positions remain unchanged with the exception of Maplesville and Clanton.

Maplesville has gained another qualifying candidate for mayor, Kurt Wallace. He will be facing incumbent W.C. Hayes. There are still no candidates for city council.

Because of the new candidate, Maplesville will now have to have an election, meaning all four municipalities in Chilton County will go to the polls in August.

Clanton has its first candidate for Ward 4 of the city council. Greg DeJarnett qualified for that office Thursday.
