Dorothy D. Medders, former resident of Prattville, of Charlotte, N.C. died June 28 at Hunter Woods Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center.
Born Dec. 19, 1922, the daughter of the late Rev. Louis R. and Ada Baumgartel, she was raised in southern Indiana.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Louis Baumgartel and her sister, Ruth Miller.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Marion “Preacher” Medders; brother, Joseph Lee Baumgartel; children, the Rev. Martha M. Headley of Clanton, David S. Medders of Sussex, New Brunswick, Canada and his wife, Anne, Mary M. and Rev. Tim Smith of Liberty, S.C.; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 5, at the Wesleyan Church of Prattville at 3 p.m. with Dr. David S. Medders and Rev. Larry Burke officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service.
