Jessie Mae Martin, 68, of McCalla died Monday, June 30 at UAB.
She was born Sunday, March 3, 1940, in Thorsby daughter of the late Henry Clay Ray and the late Elizabeth Noah. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, E.C. Martin of McCalla; five daughters, Connie (Keith) Young of Clanton, Doris (Johnny) Farley of Greenpond, Linda Hyde (Charles Nash) of West Blockton, Becky (Ricky) Ryan of West Blockton, Kathy Cruze (Daryl Corley) of Abernat; sons, David (Vivian) Martin of West Blockton, Brian (Amber) Martin of McCalla; 15 grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two sisters, Willodean Moore of New Market, Faye Smitherman of Clanton; two brothers, Willie C. Ray of Jemison and Bobby Ray of Jemison.
She was preceded in death by her grandkids, Linda “Strawberry” Hyde, Jessilyn Martin and brother, S.C. Ray.
Friends will be received today at Martin Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday, July 2, at New Hope Baptist Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Calvin Smitherman officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
