Residents of Chilton County have been looking forward to the opening night of the Peach Festival for months now.

Tonight will be the first official outing for the girls as they step out on stage to show off a few moves during the fifth annual Peach Fashion Show. The show is set to take place at 6:30 p.m. and will feature the Miss Peach contestants. Each individual will be modeling three outfits each. The winner of the show will be accompanied by the viewer’s choice winner, which will be announced at the end of the voting period.

At least two hours prior to the fashion show and one hour after the section of Second Avenue North in front of the Chilton County Courthouse will be closed to all traffic. This is so they will have time to set up the stage, lights, sound system and seating.

The fashion show is the opening event of the 61st annual Chilton County Peach Festival, which will follow on Saturday with the Little Miss Peach Pageant. The pageant is set to take place at Chilton County High School at 6:30 p.m. All contestants must be there by 5 to 5:30 p.m. for dressing.

The Young Miss Peach Pageant will follow on Monday 23 at CCHS. It is also set to begin at 6:30.

The Junior Miss Peach and the Miss Peach contestants will be having their pageants on Tuesday and Thursday, June 26, respectively. Both groups of girls will have to participate in an interview as well as the pageant itself. Both pageants are set to take place at CCHS at 6:30 p.m. with the interviews starting privately before hand.
