Candidates: Keep it to the issues

Finally, we know who the two major candidates will be for the Presidential Election in November – Barack Obama and John McCain.
So far, this campaign has been a rather ugly one especially through the Democratic primaries and caucuses. Hopefully since the nominees are decided, we can leave the ugliness of mudslinging behind and replace it with a good debate about the real issues of the campaign.
This election, like all presidential election years, is an important one. We will have a new president, and the American people need to know where our candidates stand so we can make an intelligent decision in November.
It is also our duty to investigate who our candidates are and what are the issues most important to them. While the president doesn’t completely run the country, he can help put our country in the right direction.
