Chilton County is known for its dirt bike races with Minooka Park hosting certain main events each year.

S&T Cycles opened two weeks ago and looks to capitalize on the enthusiasm in the area.

“Our family has always raced, and I’ve been racing since I was 5 years old,” co-owner Dustin Stevens said. “We noticed that there wasn’t anybody that sold parts for a major motorcycle brand,” Stevens said.

Stevens is co-owner with his father Danny, who has also spent time racing in the past.

“There are a lot of people that have side-to-sides, ATVs and dirt bikes, and they were having to drive to either Birmingham or Montgomery in order to get their service work done,” Stevens said.

Even though they have only been open for less than a month, Stevens already sees the appreciation from the community.

“Everybody has been excited that there is someone local to buy parts,” Stevens said. “In the last week, our service work has really taken a step up. It seems like we’re getting more in every day.”

In the past, Stevens qualified to go to the International Six Days Enduro event, in which a handful of riders are chosen each year to represent the United States in the competition.

According to Stevens, his experience is something that he hopes customers and fellow racers can easily relate with.

S&T specializes in off-road motorcycles and primarily sell Beta and TM brands. The shop is located at the corner of U.S. 31 and Highway 22 in Clanton.

If a customer requires a part not currently in stock, S&T Cycles can have it shipped within two days.

As you walk into the building, a show room sits to the left with a spacious garage and workshop in the back of the building.

According to Stevens, the peak of the dirt bike season is from summer to fall, with requests for ATV parts picking up during hunting season.
