Police look for convenience store theft suspect

The suspect in a theft Tuesday has been identified as Timmy Jake Wells, 22, of Verbena.

Clanton Police are looking for a man suspected of stealing money from a fuel station convenience store on Tuesday.

Timmy Jake Wells, who goes by T.J. Wells, has been identified by police as the suspect in the robbery that occurred at 6:43 p.m. Tuesday at the Shell fuel station off Interstate 65 Exit 205, according to a post on the CPD Facebook page.

The suspect was identified with help from Facebook commenters, Capt. David Clackley said.

Wells, 22, has listed addresses in Verbena.

The vehicle used in the theft is believed to drive a black Toyota car with a white pin stripe in the shape of barbed wire, Clackley said, and there was a second subject in the vehicle at the time.
