An arctic blast of air should arrive in Chilton County Wednesday night and Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a wind advisory Wednesday from noon until 9 p.m. Winds are expected to pick up after lunchtime and last through the evening.

Winds behind the front will be sustained at 15 to 25 miles per hour, with a few gusts up to 35 miles per hour.

Bitterly cold weather will arrive Wednesday night into Thursday and the combination of cold temperatures and brisk winds will create wind chill readings around zero Wednesday night and early Thursday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind chill advisory is in effect for Chilton County from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

A fire weather watch has also been issued from Thursday morning through Thursday afternoon for multiple counties in Alabama including Chilton.

The forecast for Wednesday night predicts Chilton County seeing a low of 13 degrees.

Temperatures on Thursday are not expected to go above freezing with a high around 31 degrees.
