John “J.W.” William Marcus, 54, of Thorsby, passed away Dec. 18.

He was born on Jan. 16, 1960, in Chilton County, the son of the late Horace Marcus and the late Merle Grace Dennis Marcus.

He was a heavy equipment operator.

Surviving are his brothers, Wayne Marcus, Thomas Earl Marcus; nephew, Jeremy Wayne Marcus.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Red and Merle Marcus and son, Shawn William Marcus.

Friends will be received from  5-8 p.m., Dec. 19, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Dec. 20, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. William Key officiating.

Interment will follow in Collins Chapel Cemetery in Thorsby.
