Edward Odell Sandlin, 66, of Clanton, passed away on Nov. 14 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Gadsden on April 24, 1948, the son of the late Grady Odell Sandlin and the late Flora Rasunberg Sandlin.

He was a laborer with the government housing authority.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne D. Sandlin of Clanton; son, John (Tammie) Holcombe; step-son, James Dyer (Tracy); grandchildren, Ashley, Brent, Tyler, Ava, and Clark; sister, Louise Jones (Bill) and nephews, Dion and Dwayne Jones.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James Sandlin.

A memorial service will be held Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. from the Chapel of Ellison Memorial Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
