Gene Presley Burnette, 66, of Verbena died Thursday, Oct. 2.

He was born on Monday, Nov. 3, 1947, in Chilton County, son of the late Byrd Lee Burnette and the late Margie Day Burnette.

He was a Lance Corporal with the U.S. Marine Corp.

Surviving are his wife, Deborah S. Burnette of Verbena; daughters, Regina Burnette of Mobile, Amber Burnette of Marbury; son, Gene Presley Burnette Jr. of Jemison; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and brother, James Burnette of Calera.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Byrd Lee and Margie Burnette.

No services at this time.

Interment will be in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo.
