Henry Jerome Sims Sr., 92, passed away Aug. 1.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Maxine Chambers Sims; brothers, Lloyd Sims and Walter Lee Sims; sisters, Lois Glasscock, Delene McMickens, Margaret Hodgens and Bobie LeDue.

He is survived by his son, Jerry Sims (Mary Ann); daughter, Tina Blanchard (Ira); brother, James Melvin Sims; sisters, Helen Satterwhite and Doris Ellison; grandchildren, Brad Latham, Joshua Latham (Patty), Rebecca Latham, Lindy Bengtson (Kyle) and Taylor Sims; great-grandchildren, Bailee Bengtson and Abby Bengtson.

Funeral services were Aug. 3 at 3 p.m. at Fairview Baptist Church with the Rev. Ira Blanchard officiating.

Visitation was prior to the service beginning at 2 p.m.

Interment was in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.

In lieu of flowers the family requested memorial donations be made to Fairview Baptist Church, 1800 West Dallas Ave., AL 36701.
