Bethany Baptist Church

Morning service opened with, “We’ll Work ‘til Jesus Comes,” led by Barbara Avery. Glenn brought a devotional, “Characteristics of Loyal Love,” from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7.

In our world today, the word love is used for many different things. We love almost everything, from cars, food and clothes to people and God. In the Greek language, there were three different words used for the word love. We should have a loyal love to people, as Jonathan and David did in 2 Samuel 9. Above all, we should love God.

After prayer and Sunday school, we continued service with “Heavenly Sunlight,” “Rock of Ages,” “Work For the Night” and “Are You Able.” Bro. Aubry made announcements and asked for prayer requests. His message was “From Here to Eternity,” from Luke 16:19-31.

This passage of scripture is about the lost rich man who died and went to hell and a poor saved beggar who died and went to heaven. Their financial status had nothing to do with their eternal destination. Jesus died for our sins, but we have a choice to reject or accept his gift of salvation. Once we pass from this life, there is never a chance to change our choice of heaven or hell. Be saved today and spend eternity in heaven with Jesus.

We dismissed with a prayer and the song “Only Trust Him.” Evening service began with “God Be With You,” followed by a message, “From Slumber to Splendor,” from Acts 20:7-12.

What can bring revival to Bethany Baptist? Only God! We need to have love for each other, as well as showing compassion to a lost and dying world. There needs to be a spiritual fire in our hearts for the spreading of the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In these verses, Paul preached all night. How long would we sit, listening to the word of God?

We must be loving and eager to spend time with fellow church members, not only on Sunday and Wednesday nights, but also have fellowship on other occasions. The church in Acts continued daily, all with the same love and compassion for each other. Hebrews 10:25 is about seeing and encouraging each other often.

We were dismissed with a prayer.

Prayer list: Bro. Aubry, Shirley, Elwyn, Grace, Billie, Jackie, Bro. Hubert, missionaries, the lost, the elderly, Phyllis Vickers, Lori and many more.

Bethsalem Baptist Church

Our service opened with Bro. Bobby welcoming everyone and giving ministry opportunities. Bro. Cleve directed the congregation in singing beautiful songs. The Celebration Choir’s special was “Come to Jesus.”

Bro. Bobby preached from Genesis 12:1-7 and 10-18 about seeking God’s purpose and the proof of faith in our choices.

The evening message was from Colossians 2:11-15 titled “A New Creature.” We had a great day in the house of the Lord.

We will not have supper on Wednesday due to Spring Break.
