Mountain Springs Church

Services started on Sunday with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “I’ll Fly Away,” “Come Unto Me,” “Getting Ready to Leave this World” and “I Want to Know More.”

Bro. Roger Cleckler gave a devotion from Psalms 139:14. We serve an amazing God and there is nothing that is too hard for him.

After Sunday school, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn “Victory in Jesus” and Bro. Roger sang “Far Better Place.”

Bro. Heath Vines preached from Luke 19:1-10. When we come to church on Sundays, we need to prepare our hearts for what God has in store for us. Zacchaeus made an effort so that he could see Jesus. Are we making an effort in our lives for Christ?

Sunday night’s service began with Bro. Kenneth leading the church in the hymns “I’ll Be Satisfied,” “Fill My Way With Love” and “Where the Milk and Honey Flows.”

Bro. Kenneth Moates gave a devotion from Psalms 48: 9-10. There are not enough words to describe how wonderful God is to us. One word we can use to describe God is everlasting. He was with us in the beginning and he will be there in the end.

Bro. Heath preached from Luke 19:1-10. Jesus’ main goal when he came to this earth was to seek and save those which were lost. When you get saved, you will have unconditional blessings in your life.

We will have a special singing on March 23 at 5:30 p.m. with special guests Ivan Parker and Canaanland. This will be a wonderful event and you do not want to miss it!

Samaria Baptist Church

Bro. Jimmie Hardee brought our message today, and Stacy Wyatt played the piano in Jeannie Mims’ absence. Bible text came from Hebrews 12:2-3.

Stacy’s piano special was “Shout to the Lord” and she did a beautiful job. The message title was ‘Two Sides To Everything.” We need to dedicate ourselves to listening as God speaks, make a choice to live by the Word and follow by the Word what Jesus will have us do in every facet of our lives.

We may not realize it, but we all will answer for those who are given to us to minister to. Jesus’ way is the way to follow in all decisions of life. We should never do things for others with a pride of accomplishment. We should do all we do in Jesus’ name and for his glory. Our blessings are bountiful when we are obedient to him.

Let us determine to raise our kids with discipline and love. They will learn respect and will become better adults when they are taught Jesus’ way. Good choices provide blessings, but bad choices come with consequences. Curfews and accountability are valuable tools in raising children today.

Pray for our church and our pastor search committee as they seek the man God wants to lead us. Prayers today are for Gaines and Linda Silas, and especially for their son Forrest as he recovers from surgery and serious illness. Please pray for Jamie and Austin Silas as well.

Remember: conviction changes us if we let it.

May God bless you and your loved ones this week. Join us for worship at Samaria.
