John Wilford Price, age 73 of Greenpond, passed away on Feb. 26 at UAB West Hospital in Bessemer.

He was born in Bibb County on Oct. 5, 1940, the son of the late Harvey Price and the late Bessie White Price.

He was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by: daughter, Teresa Horn of Woodstock; daughter, Barbara Chesser of McCalla; daughter, Mable Pierce of Bessemer; son, J.W. Price of Northport; daughter, Courtney Delaine Price of Clanton; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Price Burt of McCalla; sister, Pauline Price of Vance; sister, Frances Marchant of Calera; brother, Royce Price of Abernat; brother, Joe Price of Hueytown; sister, Hazel Price of Montana; brother, Donald Price of Tuscaloosa; and sister, Joyce Ann Price of Erik, Mich.

He is preceded in death by his two sons, Larry Price and Jeff Martin.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, at 11 a.m. from Greenpond Church of God of Prophecy with the Rev. Bill Noe officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow in the Hickman Chapel Cemetery in McCalla.
