Jackie Sue Harris, 59, of Clanton, passed away on Oct. 9 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

She was born in Bartow, Fla. on May 6, 1954, the daughter of the late Hub Langston and Gloria Ann McCue Langston-Bates.

She was a former operator at Keystone.

She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer (Don) Whitener of Jemison; daughter, Veronica (Benji) Smith of Maplesville; grandchild, Tyler Smith of Maplesville; grandchild, Melony Smith of Maplesville; mother, Gloria Langston-Bates of Jemison; step-father, John Bates of Jemison; sister, Sonya (Larry) Patterson of Clanton; brother, Bruce (Ramona) Langston of Calera; special friend, Matt Thompson of Birmingham and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Oct. 12 at 11 a.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Phil Guin and the Rev. Hank Staton officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Baptist Cemetery in Jemison.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Southern Care Hospice of Clanton, especially Ollie Munford and Anita Smitherman, for the care and comfort shown during this time.
