FRIDAY NIGHT PREVIEW: Panthers no homecoming fodder

Cullman Christian at Chilton Christian (1-3)

Chilton Christian picked up its first win last week, over Brooklane Baptist, and the Patriots will try to build some momentum with another strong showing.

Loachapoka (3-0) at Verbena (0-3)

Verbena’s tough start to the season could get even tougher with a visit from unbeaten Loachapoka. The Red Devils’ upset bid will at least be aided by playing at home.

Isabella (3-0) at Horseshoe Bend (1-2)

Isabella will try to continue its unbeaten start to the season with a road trip to Horseshoe Bend. IHS coach Scott Booth said the contest might be the Mustangs’ biggest test so far.

Talladega (2-1) at Chilton Co. (1-2)

Chilton County, which showed progress on offense and defense last week, might have to win a low-scoring affair: Talladega games have averaged a total of 28 points.

Sunshine (1-2) at Billingsley (1-2)

Billingsley’s last two efforts have been disappointing, but this week could provide some relief because visiting Sunshine has been outscored 107-13 in two region losses.

Leeds (2-1) at Thorsby (1-2)

Thorsby’s losses the past two weeks have been especially heartbreaking (the Rebels lost by a combined 14 points) because their region slate is so daunting. Leeds will be the first example of that.
