Mountain Springs Church

Services started with Bro. Kenneth Moates leading the church in the following hymns: “Joy Unspeakable,” “The Old Gospel Ship,” “I’m Going That Way” and “Anywhere is Home.”

Bro. Ricky Bice gave a devotion from 1 Corinthians 3:11-15. We need to have a sound foundation for Christ and remove anything in our lives that is not good for that foundation.

After Sunday School, Bro. Kenneth led the church in the hymn “When We All Get to Heaven,” and Ricky and Sherrie Williams sang “God on the Mountain.”

Bro. Don preached from Matthew 26:13. We should remember what the Lord has done for us. We need to remember that the Lord came for the unjust, not the just, and even in our sinful state, Christ loved us. Every Sunday should be a remembering day for the Lord.

Sunday night, we had a special guest, Mark Lanier, come and sing for our end-of-the-month singing. He blessed the church with many songs that God has blessed him to sing, and we hope to see him again soon.

Saturday, June 1, we will kick off our Vacation Bible School with a hotdog supper. Fun and games from 4-6 p.m. We hope you and your family will be able to come.

Don’t forget our services are Sundays at 9:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Hope to see you there!

Calvary Independent Baptist Church

We want to thank everyone for attending church services this weekend. We also want to say a special thanks to all those who have served and are serving in our military. Many have given their lives for the freedoms we so easily take for granted.

We ask that everyone pray for those who will be traveling for summer vacation. Also, pray for the churches having VBS in the next several weeks.

Calvary will be hosting VBS June 2-7. Registration will begin June 2 during the 5:30-6:30 p.m. service. The following week, Monday-Friday, VBS times will be 6:30-8:30 p.m. each night. Please pray about allowing your children to be a part of the VBS program this year at our church. We would love to see them and you there each night of VBS.

If you are not attending services elsewhere, we would love for you to attend services with us this Sunday. We have Sunday school at 9 a.m., Children’s Church and adult worship service at 10 a.m., Sunday evening service at 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday service at 6:30 p.m. We are located south of Clanton, just past Dollar General, off U.S. 31 on Fulmer Drive. For more information, call Pastor Oscar Mims at 205-755-9399.
