Edward Ray “Tot” Mills, 67, of Birmingham and formerly of Clanton, passed away on May 19 at Birmingham Healthcare and Rehab in Birmingham.

He was born in Chilton County on Jan. 6, 1946, the son of the late Ernest B. Mills and the late Lura Porter Mills.

He was a construction laborer.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Peoples Mills of Birmingham; son, Christopher Earl Mills of Birmingham; four grandchildren; brother, Elvin Mills (Juanita) of Clanton; sister, Laura “Lassie” Mills of Clanton and brother, Billy Frank Mills of Birmingham.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lura Mills and four brothers.

Visitation will be held on May 23 at 2 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. J. Aaron Ellison officiating.

Burial will follow in the Archers Chapel Methodist Protestant Cemetery in Jemison
