Thelma Virginia Shelton, 90, of Clanton passed away on May 9 at Hatley Health Care in Clanton.

She was born on Tuesday, Aug. 29, 1922 in Chilton County, daughter of the late Eugene Thrash and the late Alice Gentry Thrash.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her daughter, Geneva Shelton Gentry of Jemison; brother, Hoyt Thrash of Jemison; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Shelton; grandchild, Joe H. Gentry, grandchild, Elaine Headley; brother, Preston Thrash, sister, Clarice Conway and sister, Willodean Bean.

Friends will be received from 2-3 p.m. on May 11 at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held on May 11 at 3 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Willard Frederick officiating.

Interment will follow in Union Grove Community Cemetery in Jemison.
