Church News for Thursday, March 7

Published 9:00am Thursday, March 7, 2013

Shiloh Baptist Church

It was a cold Sunday morning in the Shiloh Community on March 3, but it was warm and friendly inside with all our church family.

Bro. Earnest’s message was from 2 Corinthians 5:17-20: “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come.”

In other words regardless of what our past is, when we accept Jesus Christ as our savior, the old is gone (that does not mean we forget our past, but we take what we learned from our mistakes to never go back and also we might can help others). We no longer want that old way of life. We try to bring our friends to Christ, but we also surround ourselves with fellow Christians. We are part of a church family which helps us grow in Christ.

Congratulations to Courtney and James Connell of the arrival of their daughter, Leighton Jade Connell, who was born March 1 weighing 7 pounds and 7 ounces.

Congratulations to Ann Marie Murray and Nathan Smith, who will wed on March 9 at Mulberry Baptist Church at 2 p.m.
