William Alfred Thompson, 84, of Clanton died Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.

He was born on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 1928, in Chilton County, son of the late Enoch Thompson and the late Susie Baker Thompson.

He was a machinist.

Surviving are his son, Randall Thompson of Clanton; daughter, Carol (Leroy) Hester of Clanton; granddaughter, Amanda Hester of Clanton; sister, Mary Sue Olsen of Clanton; brothers, Bobby Thompson of Ohio and Jerry Thompson of Clanton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Thompson, and son, Charles Stephen Thompson.

Friends will be received from 6–8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7, at Pinedale Assembly of God.

Services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, at 11 a.m. at Pinedale Assembly of God with the Rev. Thurmond Cleckler officiating.

Interment will follow in Pinedale Assembly of God in Clanton.
