Paul Samuel Byler

Paul Samuel Byler, age 90 of Clanton, passed away on Jan. 30, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born in Chilton County on July 26, 1922, the son of the late Rufus Z. Byler and the late Fannie B. Smitherman Byler.

He retired as a maintenance man from the Chilton County Board of Education.

He is survived by: daughter, Annette (Donnie) Messer of Clanton; daughter, Lois Byler of Clanton; daughter, Sharon Byler of Clanton; son, Jerry Byler of Northport; granddaughter, Melanie Messer of Clanton; grandson, Donithin Messer of Clanton; and sister, Mary Ruth Lee of Montgomery.

He is preceded in death by: wife, Mary Walker Byler.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, Feb. 1, at 1 p.m. from Victory Chapel Church with the Rev. Melton Short and the Rev. Willie Littleton officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Burial will follow the service in New Harmony Holiness Cemetery in Clanton.
