Published 9:37pm Monday, January 14, 2013Robert Donald Horton, 82, of Columbia, S.C., died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013.
He was born on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 1931, in Alabama, son of the late Arthur Lemuel Horton and the late Minnie Elizabeth Atchison Horton.
He was a bank courier with HBSC of Columbia, S.C.

Surviving are his daughters, Diane H. Blume of Batesburg, S.C., Shirley H. Howell of West Columbia, S.C., Marie H. Fluitt of Columbia, S.C.; son, Robert Donald “RD” Horton Jr. of Gaston, S.C.; sister, Lucille H. Little of Clanton; brother, Claude Lemuel Horton of Clanton; special recognition to granddaughter, Karen M. Howell of Columbia, S.C.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sylvia Miller Horton and his second wife, Martha Lee Burt Horton.
Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.
Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Denzel Baughman officiating.
Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville.
