Arthur C. Oaks

Arthur C. “A.C.” Oaks, 74, of Jemison died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Saturday, July 30, 1938, in Jefferson County, son of the late Lonnie Oaks and the late Evelyn Rutherford Oaks.

He was an assistant manager in retail sales.

Surviving are wife, Peggy A. Oaks of Jemison; two sons, Arthur C. (Dorothy) Oaks Jr. of Jonesboro, Ga., Joseph Ray Oaks of Columbiana; daughter, Patricia Ann Richards of Montgomery; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two brothers, Allen Oaks of Pensacola, Fla., Kenneth Oaks of Calera; sister, Martha Bullard of Pell City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Evelyn Oaks, and son, the Rev. Sammy Oaks.

Friends will be received from 5–8 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Wednesday, Jan. 9, at 2 p.m. at Jemison First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rex Kent and the Rev. Bobby Hopper officiating.

Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison.
