Calvary Independent Baptist Church

We want to thank everyone who attended services this weekend. The Sunday morning service included a message from John 1:1-18 on the creative power of God that is shown in all that is made. We also see throughout his creation that everything was created for a purpose. Each believer in Christ has a very special place and purpose in God’s plan, and we hope you have found your special place in the will of God.

Sunday evening’s service included a message from 1 Samuel 14:6-7 and 2 Kings 13:14-19 on encouraging one another as servants together with Christ. Anyone in the church, which is the body of Christ, is just as important as the next person. Each person has a special place in the eyes of the Lord and in the eyes of the brethren. We are all members together. We are to edify one another in the ministry of getting the lost saved, and the saved living a life in the will of God.

If you are not attending services somewhere on a regular basis, we would love for you to come and worship with us any time. On Sunday, Dec. 16, we will have a special performance by the Children at Calvary in the 10 a.m. service. Everyone is invited.

We are located south of Clanton, just past Dollar General, off U.S. 31 on Fulmer Drive. Sunday School at 9 a.m., Children’s Church and adult worship services at 10 a.m., Sunday night service at 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday service at 6:30 p.m. For more information, call Pastor Oscar Mims at 205-755-9399.

Rocky Mount United Methodist Church

We declare once again that Christ is the King, as we celebrate Christ the King Sunday on Nov. 25. The truth is what we celebrate, and Jesus is the truth. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth and the life.” We will continue that celebration always, but especially on Christ the King Sunday, through Christmas and the Advent season. There is only way to heaven, and that is through Jesus Christ. We invite you to join us during these holidays and experience Jesus firsthand.

Rocky Mount joined together on Sunday afternoon for The Hanging of the Greens. The church was made fragrant with the smell of living things. May the decorations we offer engage our senses during the days of Advent, and enliven our praise and worship in the name of the child of Bethlehem, our risen and coming Savior, Jesus Christ.
