Clarence Allen Mims

Clarence Allen Mims, age 55 of Clanton, passed away on Sept. 7, 2012, at his residence.

He was born in Clanton on June 5, 1957, the son of the late James A. “Buddy” Mims and Voncille Ward Mims.

He was a propane truck driver with Chilton Propane Gas Company.

He is survived by: wife, Debra Mims; daughter, Mandi (Josh) Hall; daughter, Amy (Todd) Mims; daughter, Charity (Kevin) Mims; daughter, Kimberly (Kyle) Hiler; son, Brian (Kayla) Mims; son, Winston (Amanda) Moates; 12 grandchildren; mother, Voncille (Monroe) Powell; sister, Diane Cleckler; brother, Alton Mims, Jr.; sister, Joane Collins; brother, John Powell; sister, Judy Robinson; sister, June Mims; mother-in-law, Myrtice Preston, all of Clanton; along with a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, James A. “Buddy” Mims, and a special father-in-law, C.F. Preston.

Visitation was held on Saturday, Sept. 8, from 6-8 p.m. at Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 2 p.m. from the Memorial Chapel of Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Reid, the Rev. Glenn Bonds and the Rev. Kevin West officiating.

Burial followed in the Archers Chapel Methodist Protestant Church Cemetery in Jemison.

Final care and arrangements entrusted to the Ellison-Cleckler Funeral Home of Clanton.
