William George McBride, 79, of Clanton died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster.

He was born on Sunday, July 23, 1933, in Illinois, son of the late Edward James McBride and the late Mary Andrews.

He loved hunting and fishing. He retired after 22 1/2 years in the Army, serving in Korea and Vietnam.

Surviving are his wife, Beverly McBride of Clanton; two daughters, Doris Ann (Jay) Clarkson of Waterford, Mich. and Laura Lee (David) Michael of Montevallo; son, William Richard McBride of Las Vegas, Nev.; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward James and Mary McBride; grandson, William Thomas McCorkle; brother, James McBride; sister, Pat McBride; and sister, Shirley Frankfother.
