Rosters set for East-West game Saturday

An annual tradition will resume Saturday at Jack Hayes Field in Clanton.

The East-West Baseball Game, which has helped civic clubs efforts for eyesight since the 1950s, will be played at 6 p.m. and feature 31 players from eight local schools.

The exhibition game will pit players from Chilton County High School, Billingsley and Marbury (who will form the East team) against players from Thorsby, Isabella, Maplesville, Jemison and Verbena.

Admission to the 9-inning game benefits the Clanton Lions Club and the Clanton Evening Lions Club.
