Hair salon goes pink

Think pink: To help bring awareness to breast cancer this month, Visions Hair Studio in Clanton is offering pink highlights and clip-ins. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Pink ribbons are not the only way people have been raising breast cancer awareness this month.

Visions Hair Studio came up with a stylish way to get involved.

Krystal Arnold and Leanne Walls, beauticians at Visions Hair Studio, are offering pink highlights, two for $25, as a way to raise awareness.

“We will be doing this for the entire month,” said Arnold. “We offer pink clip-ins or if someone wants to get actual pink hair they can.”

The special began last Friday, and they have already had numerous customers.

“We’ve had customers of all ages,” said Walls. “I had two customers last week ask for them for school, and that is what gave us the idea to do this for breast cancer.”

Customers are welcome Tuesday–Saturday by appointment or walk-in. For each customer who receives highlights, 10 percent of the proceeds will be donated to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, an organization that supports breast cancer research.
